Neil's
Barbecue and Grill Back in 1974 Neil Henry began his life in the restaurant business washing dishes and making onion rings at Leonard's BBQ in Memphis. He quickly moved up to cooking and has been hooked on the restaurant business since then. After that, his restaurant experiences included stints at Little Pigs BBQ, Gridley's BBQ and Shoney's South, before opening his own BBQ restaurant in Dyersburg. Along the way, Neil cooked, managed and even opened up 3 restaurants as operations manager for Gridley's, overseeing the entire process from construction to opening the doors. Through all this valuable experience, Neil learned many tricks of the trade. All the while, waiting until the day that he would have a restaurant of his own to put this knowledge to the test. On May 5th, 1987 Neil opened up his first restaurant in Dyersburg, located on Lake Road. It sat 74 people and in a short time the lines were stretching out the door. Customers started arriving for meals earlier and earlier just to ensure a seat. At this rate, it didn't take long until he realized that he would have to expand. That's when he decided to move to his present location on Mall Blvd.. Now he seats three times as many people and still packs them in most nights of the week. One of the other traits that make his restaurant such as success is Neil's outgoing personality. He'll make you feel right at home, and if he doesn't know you, he will after a few visits. Just look for the guy in the blue apron discussing hunting, that's Neil. Neil's menu features all the local favorites, from steaks, chicken, a variety of salads and kid's items, to the barbecue and fixins that he is famous for.
