WELCOME
...To the Dyersburg Newcomer's.
No matter if you came from a small town such as Dyersburg or a sprawling
metropolis such as Chicago friends and family are hard to leave behind and
moving is one of the most stressful events in a persons life.
Our members come from all
over the United States and Canada.
Some have never been in the South before and some have never left it but
building a new life and finding new friends can be easier as one of our
members.
..If you are a mother of
preschool children you will be happy to know that a baby-sitter is
provided for a lot of our functions.
..If you have the time and the passion you will be glad to know there is a
bridge group just waiting for another player.
..Need a night out? A dinner group meets once a month then there is an
Evening Night Out. Either or both may be just the activity to keep you
from going insane.
..Have a hobby or a pastime? Many of our members love to scrapbook.
..If a good book is waiting by the night stand then you may enjoy our
recently formed book club.
..There are bunco groups for day and night and different days of the week.
..We have a coffee on the third Wednesday of every month, however, you
will find more than coffee on the menu. We all take turns bringing some
culinary delights to tempt the taste buds. This is a popular get together
and begins at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church.
..On the first Wednesday of every month we schedule a luncheon at a nearby
restaurant. It is a good way to sample the fare of the city and get to
know the area. This is also a popular activity and we meet at 11:00am.
There is a babysitter available for both of these if anyone has the need.
A nominal fee is charged.
..There are different activities planned for the entire year and the
entire family....
....A hayride for the Halloween season... a picnic at the local park
during the summer....a Thanksgiving Dinner in November and other holiday
related events.
..Men also need a night out...so the second Monday night of the month is
set aside for them.
Members can enjoy any or all
of the activities and events. We also get a newsletter once a month and
are kept up to date on functions and other members via email or phone call
if you are without email.
A mention also for the hospitality of the First Christian Church for
granting our group the use of their beautiful facilities.
